Strong Zero is legendary, sells by the 18 wheeler load and hits like a freight train. That much is known.
However, that doesn't mean Suntory should rest on its laurels and bask in the fruity glory of days past.
Enter 'Craft -196', a whole new lineup of chuhai drinks ready to take the lead on innovative drinks in a segment saturated with questionable products and cheap copycats.
Using a manufacturing technique of soaking frozen fruit into alcohol –just like the original Strong Zero– the Craft -196 comes in zesty flavors such as Lemon Peel, Orange Peel and Apple. As usual, seasonal flavors will also be offered with Pineapple, Peach and Kiwi currently in the pipeline.
These new products target discerning drinkers who crave more sophisticated palate pleasers than your classic Dry can.
With that in mind, Suntory has intentionally lowered the alcohol contents to plateau at 6-7% vol, so everybody goes home safe and stops blaming their Twitter-worthy meltdowns on the "black-out drink".
